Pliable Athlete

KAYLYN BOURQUE, ICE HOCKEY, KENTS HILL

Kaylyn Bourque,  is a multi-sport athlete at Kents Hill in Kents Hill, Maine. She is one of the top female ice hockey and lacrosse players in the state.

On November 1, 2022, Kaylyn Bourque announced that she has transferred from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine. Bourque, has played the past two seasons for the Winslow/Gardiner/Erskine/Lawrence/Messalonskee/Brewer Black Tigers.

At age 16, Bourque led the state in scoring for the Black Tigers as a sophomore with 33 goals in 15 games. She also played for the Maine Gladiators before joining the Casco Bay Mariners Tier II U19 team. She currently leads the Mariners in scoring and had one of her goals nominated to SportsCenter.

By transferring to Kents Hill, Bourque will compete in the NEPSAC and play with and against some of the top ice hockey players across the country.

“Since I was 7 years old, it has been my dream to play professional women’s ice hockey. Today, my passion and pursuit of that dream is stronger than ever as I take an important next step in my career. I am excited to announce I have been recruited and accepted by Kents Hill Prep School. Starting this hockey season, I look forward to building on my academic and athletic career with the Huskies. Attending prep school will help me get more exposure and take a step closer to playing college hockey,” said Bourque in an Instagram post with her announcement.

Kents Hill Prep School is located in Kents Hill, Maine, just 12 miles from the state capitol of Augusta. The location in Central Maine was part of the reason Bourque chose the prep school, which is less than an hour from Bourque’s hometown of Benton, Maine.

In addition to  hockey, Kaylyn is a standout lacrosse player. Prior to transferring to Kents Hill, she set the single game scoring record at Lawrence High School with 10 goals in one game. In her sophomore season, Kaylyn led the Lawrence Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 50 goals and established herself as one of the top players in the state.

She also plays soccer and is a former USA Track and Field State Champion in high jump, long jump and 4 x 10 relay.
