AUGUSTA, Maine (June 6, 2025) - On Friday night, federal judge Claudia Wilken approved the $2.8 billion House v. NCAA settlement. The final approval comes after years of litigation, and introduces a new era of college sports.
Below is a media statement from Greg Glynn, Founder and CEO of Pliable, a full-service NIL agency and a registered NIL marketing agent. He represents more than 35 athletes across the country.
"In this new era of college sports, the settlement reflects progress and opportunity for high school and college athletes to have more clarity about where their NIL earnings
can come from.
Since 2021, it has been a wild ride for athletes and colleges trying to navigate name, image and likeness opportunities. No matter what, every athlete can, and should, always have opportunity to build their athlete brand with companies and partnerships that are important to them.
As colleges start to allocate NIL funds to their teams and athletes, Pliable will always advocate for athletes in every sport to receive fair compensation. It is critical that athletes are educated and empowered to succeed during and after their athletic career."
